Questions about WhatsApp API
Is this personal WhatsApp?
No. This is WhatsApp Business API through official Meta-approved providers: a business number, approved templates, and an inbox your staff can use. Not the green personal app and not unofficial “WhatsApp blasters”.
Can we send OTP and alerts on WhatsApp?
Yes, where Meta allows the template category. Utility templates cover fee due, order packed, and slot confirmed. Marketing templates are separate. Some OTP use-cases still belong on SMS.
Do we still need SMS?
Often yes. SMS reaches the phone inbox when WhatsApp is not installed, the user blocked the business, or an OTP must go on a transactional SMS route. SMS is a separate service page.
Who approves templates?
Meta. We draft the copy and submit. We do not promise a template will be approved or that every user will receive it.
